Adult Sunday School - Sundays 9-10am |
|
While our regularly scheduled Sunday School classes are in recess for the summer months, a group of adult members want to continue to meet together for Bible study. They will meet on Sundays from 9:00 – 10:00 AM in the Lounge for a self-directed Bible study (both pastors will be at worship). Please join them at 9:00AM and you can then worship at the 10:30 AM service! |

FELC Golf Outing Monday, Oct. 6 |
SAVE THE DATE First English is planning a Fellowship & Fundraiser Golf Outing on Monday, October 6, 2008. The event will take place at Gowanie Golf Club, located on South River Rd. in Mt. Clemens. The day will include lunch, golf, dinner, as well as, prizes, silent auction & raffles!! A dinner only option will also be available. Stay tuned for more info and volunteer opportunities. Annual Golf Outing & Building Fund online fundraiser |
 Welcome to the first online "Fundraiser" for our Church. This effort is being done in concert with our Annual Golf Outing & Building Fund event on October 6th, which is focused on maintaining our commitment to the Family Life Center. The Family Life Center helps people build healthy relationships with God and with each other. Our Church reaches out to the community in various ways throughout the year including; many Grosse Pointe North High School activities, St. Joan of Arc school & athletic functions, The Princeton Review, Extreme Teen Dances, Grosse Pointe Soccer Association, Sweet Beat Jazz Institute, Grosse Pointe Community Chorus, Wheelchair Floor Hockey, Red Cross Blood Drives, CROP Walk for hunger. It is with this mission in mind that we ask you to support our MAJOR FUNDRAISING EVENT. We feel that in strengthening the support and by providing an opportunity and a safe location to play a game of basketball, perform in a musical or participate in an enrichment class or activity, together we can impact our community as a whole and help support our mission of "Go Make Disciples".

Cedar Point - October 11th |
|
We are going to Cedar Point on October 11th. Parking opens at Noon so we'll be leaving the Church at 8:30am. We need at least 15 people to get the group discount, so sign up by September 28th. Prices range from $13.95 for a Senior (62 or older) to $29 for grades 5-12.

The Wizard of Oz on November 14 & 15th |

MUSICAL AUDITIONS This year’s musical production is “The Wizard of Oz” presented by the L.I.F.E. (Laughter and Inspiration at First English) Players on November 14th & 15th with a matinee performance on Sunday November 16th. Mark your calendars for Tuesday, August 19th if you are interested in performing or helping out with the musical. Audition times are: 6:30PM—Children & 7:30PM for Adults. Tour of Egypt May 28 – June 10, 2009 |
|
TOUR OF EGYPT People have been asking, “Where are we going next year?” Well our 14 day tour will take us to the spectacular sights of Egypt; including a Nile River Cruise, plus Mt. Sinai! The dates are May 28 – June10, 2009; about six weeks earlier than we normally travel because of the warm climate. Brochures should be available before the end of August; however, we are pleased to announce that in spite of the increasing costs of everything, and the declining dollar, this tour will be similar in cost to our 2007 tour of the Alps. Make your plans now to see the Sphinx, the majestic Pyramids, the Valley of the Kings, King Tut’s Tomb, the world famous Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, the Nile River, and of course Biblical Mt. Sinai; just to name a few. |

Kids Against Hunger - Febuary 2009 |

Come and help us with our effort with Kids Against Hunger. We'll be hosting a food preparation event in The Luther Center in February. Any donations would be greatly appreciated to help pay for the food, packing materials and other expenses.

School Hours: 3 & 4 year olds: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8:45-11:15 AM*
*There is a possibility of a separate Tuesday/Thursday 3 year old class as
enrollment dictates. Fees: Registration fee: $50. Tuition: approximately $970 per year for 3 year olds and
$1450 per year for 4 year olds; paid in monthly installments.
Adult/Child Ratio: 1:8 Program: We would like to assist you in preparing your child for their kindergarten and elementary years. Children of FELP will have a first school experience that will help develop a positive self-image and social and intellectual abilities in a structured and caring environment. Our program includes art, music, language, physical development, bible lessons, math, science and beginning reading concepts. Children will learn structure as they experience the school routine and enjoy active learning as they explore and create in a stimulating learning environment. Special Events: Special events are varied. They may include special guests (i.e. dentist or firefighter), child and parent open house, Christmas event, Easter egg hunt, end of year picnic, etc.. Parents are always welcome when their schedule allows them to visit the classroom and participate.
Certification: FELP is licensed with the State of Michigan. Our Director/lead teacher, Christine Simone, has a bachelor degree in Elementary Education and has also completed the graduate work necessary for an Early Childhood Education endorsement to her Michigan teacher certification. She has a variety of experiences in education at the preschool and elementary level and has been trained in first aid and CPR.
